DIY Diaper Cake

DIY Diaper Cake in 6 simple steps!
Here is our DIY diaper cake as promised!

Here is what you’ll need to create this amazing diaper cake for your next baby shower:

Materials:

  • Long paper roll (we saved our gift wrapping paper rolls!)
  • Scissors
  • Elastic bands
  • Diapers
  • Ribbons
  • Round gift box lids (various sizes)

Step 1: take your round gift box lids as a mould to form the shape of your cake layers. You would flip the lid upside down so that you can use the rim as a guide and line each diaper along the rim as our picture shows. Repeat until you have filled the whole area of the lid.

Here is a picture of what it should look like once you have completed this!
Step 2: Once you have completed lining all your diapers up take an elastic band and wrap it around your diaper layer. This will help hold your cake in place!

Step 3:You want to repeat these steps using different sizes of the round gift box lids so that you have different layers for your diaper cake. The amount of tiers for your cake is all up to you!

Step 4: When you have completed all your desired tiers, you now can assemble your diaper cake! Take the paper roll and slide it into the centre of the diaper cake like our picture! This should make your diaper cake more firm and sturdy! We don’t want a flimsy cake that will fall apart!

I decided to get fancy and do a 4 tier later cake! My guests are always amazed when I show up with this cake as a baby shower gift!

Step 5: Take your ribbons and line it up against the elastic bands. This will hide the elastic bands! Pick the colours according to your theme!

Step 6: Now we decorate! You can add anything on your cake for decorations! Here is my completed cake!

I hope you find this tutorial easy! I would love to see how your DIY diaper cakes turn out! This diaper cake will surely wow your guests or it could be a centre piece at your next baby shower party! Leave a comment if you have any questions!
